spring art fair at the landmark arts centre

I’ve spent the last few weeks prepping for my first in-person show since before the pandemic. It took a lot of late nights, but resulted in a rather nice (I think!) and full stand. My hair in this photo πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ™‚ it looks like a I’m a mad artist, right?!

The show didn’t go very well in terms of sales, for myself as well as lot of other exhibitors. I guess it’s a sign of the economic uncertainty in the world right now. But it hasn’t discouraged me at all. I’ll be doing two more in-person events this year. Email list VIPs will get the details first of course.

It was also really wonderful that so many of my friends and acquaintances popped down to the show to say hello and show their support! It helped keep morale up as well as being a lovely treat to see them all.

My fingers and hands definitely suffered. Some TLC is called for and it’ll be Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour cream for the win to make them soft and non-peely again!

This was the perfect opportunity to paint a big canvas again for the first time in many years. OG readers of this blog will remember the Blue Shell painting and others from more than half a decade ago! I will share the final pieces soon. They’re rather different from my usual food illustration but I felt they were in my head waiting to come out and so I did it!

I got some little canvases from Jackson’s Art* which were super fun to paint too. Again, I will share the final pieces soon. An originals drop is in the offing. Email list gets first dibs, so don’t forget to sign up!
