Hand-painted silk scarf: Dandelion Dreams

Silk (pongee 5) scarf with rolled hem. 45 x 150 cm long. Hand-painted using silk paints and cold wax batik. The idea for this scarf came from the parks and grassy areas in London, which are always populated with some flowering dandelions and seed-heads. The visible ends of the scarf are populated with seed-heads and grasses and the middle of the scarf is dotted with seed parachutes. Whether you wear it knotted or as a stole, all angles will be beautiful. I created the pattern using cold wax resist and silk paint in multiple layers – each layer was unpredictable, and the result after ironing and washing was a surprise even to me. It’s a beautiful, unique piece and I will never be able to replicate it. www.aratidevasher.com _DSC3171_edir_web     _DSC3485_editweb1a
